AURORA -- "Randy Kramp, who carried on a family tradition as an Aurora firefighter, died Saturday at the age of 43 from complications of cancer treatments.
In April 1994, Kramp was hired by the Aurora Fire Department, where both his father and grandfather had served. Kramp eventually joined the department's scuba team and worked as a paramedic."
Services for our brother are:
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Daleiden Mortuary in Aurora. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rita of Cascia Church in Aurora.
In leiu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to the organizations that Kramp held most dear, the Aurora Fire Department and the Boy Scouts of America.
Please keep the Kramp family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
General News: Firefighter layoff fundraiser, Bolingbrook

There is a fundraiser event on June 23, 2010. Please print out a copy to bring with you when you dine in or carry out food at the Buffalo Wild Wings, Located at 777 Boughton Road Bolingbrook IL 60440 (I-355 and Boughton Rd.) 15% of all purchases made on June 23, 2010 will be donated to the Bolingbrook Fire Fighters and Police Officers who are being laid off on May 31, 2010. Please try to attend and bring some friends. Feel free to email this attachment to anyone you think will participate.

General News: Joliet Firefighters Lay off, Fundraiser

We will be holding two fundraisers in conjunction with the PD Union for the 3 Fire Fighters and 2 Police Officers being laid off.
The first will be held Wednesday June 16, 2010 (Black Shift) and Bar Louie, Bolingbrook Location. Located in the Promenade Mall, at I-355 and Boughton Road. There will be a $20 cover charge, which will include drink and food specials from 6pm until close. Bar Louie has graciously donated a 3 Day 2 Night Hotel Stay in Las Vegas with $500 spending money that will be raffled off that night, the winner will need to provide their own airfare. There will be a 50/50 (split the pot) raffle held as well. Las Vegas trip tickets will be raffled at : 1 ticket for $10.00 or 3 tickets for $20.00 50/50 Raffle will be: 1 ticket for $5.00 each.
The Second fundraiser will be held on Wednesday June 23, 2010 (Red Shift) at the Buffalo Wild Wings, Bolingbrook Location, Located at Boughton Road & Janes Ave, (near I-355 and Boughton Rd.). There will be a coupon distributed via e-mail and our website, http://www.iafflocal3005.com, that MUST BE USED for this fundraiser. Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 15% of all purchases either dine in or take out with the provided coupon. We will also need a few people to donate their time this day to hand out extra coupons to people who forget or for the general public to donate if they so choose.
100% of all money collected will be equally divided among the 5 members.
General News: The IAFF Local 99 2010 Football Frenzy
RContreras writes "The 2nd Annual Fire Fighter Football Frenzy will be Saturday May 1st of 2010. The Tournament will be held at the Stuart Sports Complex in Aurora Illinois. (on Jericho road, just west of Orchard rd.) Kickoff is at 9am sharp. We are looking for 7 to 15 other FD's to come join us in this flag football tourney which will help us raise donations for Local Fox Valley Charities. Those departments interested, or that have updates on this event can contact Dan Osman HERE!

Local 99 sent three representatives to the 2009 EMS confrence in Miami, Florida. Alot of great information was gathered and presented to our local's members at July's meeting.

General News: Local 99 attends the I.A.F.F. EMS Confrence in Miami
jason equi writes "Three members of Local 99 attended the International Association of Firefighters EMS convention in Miami. The workshops were fantastic, and the information learned and shared was invaluable. The confrence was attended by Greg Jackman, Vice President local 99, members Bob Chance and myself. We split the workshops and spent as much time possible gathering insight into alot of todays ems challenges facing locals all accross the international. Local 99 News: Urgent!!! Local 44 - Joliet Illinois!!!

Joliet L-44 is planning an informational picket and a rally to try and prevent city wide layoffs on May 27 from 1400 - 1700 hrs in conjunction with Joliet Officers L-2369, FOP and other Local Unions represented within the City of Joliet.
The rally will muster at the FOP Building in Joliet on the corner of Bluff and Jefferson at 1400hrs. Parking is available across the river at the Harrah's parking deck and the numerous other lots around Harrah's.
